* Difficult samples: add $2/sample for samples with salt content or acid residue, etc., that decrease the lifespan of consumables.
** Enriched isotope surcharge: add $2/sample for EA-IRMS, $7.50/sample for GC-C-IRMS; covers cost of extra consumables and effort needed to flush the system clean to return to natural abundance analysis; cost added only when memory effect is noticeable.
*** Departmental users are expected to perform their own analyses after training on instrument operation. Visiting scientists can also request to be trained for analysis.
**** Turn-around times depend on how busy the facility is. The EA is the default peripheral on the IRMS so turn-around times are faster. GC-(C)-IRMS users: please provide at least 1 month advance notice so your analysis and/or method delvelopment can be coordinated.
Rates are doubled for rush analysis requests. For full preparation of EA and EA-IRMS samples from raw materials, please contact the SIF Manager. Blanks, lab standards and standard reference materials provided by the SIF are analyzed free of charge.
OTHER FEES (charged on a case-by-case basis):
Method development fee: $60/hour
Additional tech time fee: $60/hour (applies for cases beyond the usual sample preparation or sample introduction fees)
Missed appointment fee: $150 for instrument start-up and optimization if the instrument is ready but no one else needs it.Otherwise, your session will be passed to the next user and your analysis will be rescheduled.
All prices are subject to change without notice.
